Ann Moss is an artist from Minneapolis Minnesota focusing in portraiture, abstract textural landscapes and nature photography.
My work is an exploration of beauty, nature and the feminine spirit. It reflects my desire to see peoples beauty and to help them see it in themselves. Through art I reflect on emotion, growth and self recognition. I draw inspiration from the human experience as well as the natural world.
Creating allows me to connect with myself and others. For the past 5 years I have been in a process of growth, learning and transformation. With the help of talented artists and a very generous mentor I am honing my skill and creativity.
I hope that people will see something of themselves in my portraits. An emotion, a feature, their own strengths. Some of my work explores social inequality through powerful imagery. Challenging the viewer to see where change is needed.
My landscapes and nature inspired paintings are a way for me to capture special memories of favorite places and experiences. My lifelong love of nature was what led me to art. I am always trying to replicate the beauty I witness. Today I share that love and curiosity through painting and photography. I have a deep fascination for wild flowers, plants, bugs of "almost" every kind, water and all the amazing animals living around us. I learn something new every time I step out into nature.
As an artist my work is a combination of mediums, as well as surfaces. I move between charcoal, watercolor, ink, acrylic, soft pastels, metalic leaf and drawing oils. Many times merging them into one piece.
